GREAT THINGS AT SEM YETO

• Thank you Jeff, Paula, Astrid, Dean, Daniel, Bonnie, Elvira, Anastasia, Robin, Rachel, Tina, and Chris for coming to our celebration to celebrate our kids success...Building Bonds is HUGE!!
• Bonnie working diligently to meet the needs of all our kids
• Thank you to Greg Brothers for filling in some of the gaps left by Brandon pursuing a new career. Losing Brandon is huge, and we appreciate Greg assuming some of the responsibilities that Brandon held.
• With the loss of Brandon, we were fortunate enough to have another excellent teacher Sue Miller (who is recently retired) finish off the school year as a science teacher. Sue Miller's dedication to our students is clearly on display.
• Big shout out to Tina for using graphic organizers and sentence frames in her US History class this week. She did an excellent job scaffolding her lesson so all students understood what she wanted them to do and made it meaningful for the students.

PBIS - Please make sure you are rewarding students positive behaviors with Tribe Dollars. If you need more come by the office and get some :).

Tool Box- We are now in the third quarter; and for the majority of SY@FHS and SYAHS, the work covered during first semester is now being repeated. Now is the time for some serious reflection on our instructional practices. This quarter presents us with an opportunity to look at what worked, what did not work, and what can we change to improve as professionals to in-turn help our students to succeed. This is where we can truly utilize the collaborative time to see who was successful in implementing specific strategies (remembering our focus on student engagement) that enabled students to be successful in specific areas. Plans can then be formulated and shared throughout both schools to normalize success for all of our students. Take the time as departments to reflect/analyze during collaboration to move our students forward.

Over Break I watched and shared the Shawn Achor video (that I shared in the staff meeting) with ALL my friends and family and made it MY resolution to "Train my Brain to be Positive" by doing the each following every day for 21 days:  
1. writing 3 NEW  things I am grateful for each day
2. Journaling  one positive experience that I had in the past 24 hours
3. Exercising 
4. Meditating 
5. Random act of Kindness or conscious Act of kindness (sending a positive email praising or supporting someone in my social network) 

I actually had friends who I shared the video with  ask me for the name of it because they were sharing it with their friends..RIPPLING EFFECT...

USE  NEW  PBIS tickets- Tribe bucks will be used starting January 3rd- Tickets will be in your box:)
Please stamp OR sign prior to handing out. PLEASE make sure packet of Tribe bucks  is NOT in a place students can get it.  With the auction I believe/hope these tickets will be VALUABLE to students:) 

USE New Bathroom passes will be used Starting January 3rd- CLIPBOARD  with Room Numbers and lanyard.  These will be placed in your classrooms.  Hooks have be put up in bathrooms for students to HANG pass on while they are using restroom.   Please use these for Bathroom ONLY:)  ALL other passes please hand write on SY passes and include place to go and time and signature:)
