PBIS - Please make sure you sign and give out the new PINK PBIS TICKETS beginning Monday. Please let the students know that the old GREEN PBIS TICKETS are now voided and will not be accepted.  REMIND the students to make sure they are turning in their tickets weekly to increase their chance to win each week.

START of the 2nd QUARTER

2^nd Quarter Schedules-

Students will pick-up their NEW 2^nd quarter schedules in their OLD first period class.  Please send schedules NOT picked up to office AFTER first period. 

Students Who Received All their Credits

All Sem Yeto Students who received 80% of their credits for the first quarter will be invited to a celebration (with their parents) on October 26th in the AHS cafeteria.  James will be smoking chickens and parents/students will be asked to bring a dessert or side dish if they want.  Please come join the celebration with our students and families:)

review policies and procedures

please take the time to review policies and procedures with all your classes. make sure the students are aware of your expectations, class procedures, how they will be graded, what they will do immediately upon entry into the class, consequences for not following rules, being tardy ect…. please emphasize school policies such as: YOU MUST HAVE A PASS to leave class,  students must not leave class the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes of class and students may not be released from class until the bell RINGS.  

We have many students pop into the office in the middle of class to say HI or to "hangout" without a pass.   Please do not allow students to LEAVE class without the pass provided to you at the start of the year.  If you lost yours, please let me know:) 

High Starting Point
As you plan/prepare for your second quarter classes, continue to set high expectations for all students. Having high expectations (especially for our unmotivated and extremely credit deficient students) is essential to any steps forward students will encounter academically. People only know what we value by our actions; and this rings true in our classrooms everyday. Our actions communicate to our students what we think about them and their abilities to achieve success academically. Below  is a brief article on what actions we can implement in our classrooms to assist us in letting our students know and understand that our classrooms are places where they will achieve success. Enjoy the first week of the second quarter, and thank you for all you do for our Sem Yeto Family!
